Kunststofftechnik Backhaus GmbH is a German developer and manufacturer of technical plastic components and assemblies based in Kierspe. The company supports customer projects from product concepts, development and design through quality planning, sampling, process validation and serial production. Its manufacturing capabilities include thermoplastic and thermoset injection moulding, 2K processing and physical foam injection moulding using MuCell and CellMould technology. The listed machine park includes 11 two-component machines, 29 standard injection moulding machines, seven thermoset machines, one MuCell and one CellMould machine. Clamping forces reach 15,000 kN. Downstream capabilities include automated assembly, ultrasonic welding, pad printing and precision finishing. The facility covers 16,000 m² with approximately 8,000 m² of production space and reports around 29 million parts annually. Backhaus serves automotive and other industrial applications and emphasizes resource-efficient manufacturing and stringent quality control.

Backhaus uses physical foam injection moulding, including MuCell and CellMould technology, to manufacture lighter thermoplastic components with reduced material consumption, warpage and cycle times.
