About

About Plastigray SAS

Plastigray SAS is a French plastics manufacturer specialising in the design, industrialisation and injection moulding of technical and appearance-critical components. Founded in 1986 and headquartered in Gray, the company supports customers in automotive, healthcare, electronics, industrial handling, agricultural equipment, housing and environmental applications. Its engineers develop manufacturable plastic solutions.

Our production activities cover standard and engineering thermoplastics, high-performance polymers and thermoplastic elastomers. Processes include two-material and insert overmoulding, gas-assisted and sandwich injection, and in-mould decoration. Injection presses range from 50 to 1,500 tonnes, supported by testing, assembly and finishing.

From product development and prototyping through tooling coordination, process validation and serial production, Plastigray brings engineering and manufacturing together. Production locations in France and Tunisia support different programme requirements, guided by quality management.

Capabilities

Our competencies

Injection molded parts

Injection molded parts

Plastigray manufactures custom thermoplastic parts on injection presses spanning 50 to 1,500 tonnes of clamping force. Its processes serve both functional technical parts and components for which appearance is important. Production supports programmes from smaller batches to high-volume series, with supporting inspection, finishing and assembly activities.

Technical parts

Technical parts

Technical component production includes engineering and high-performance thermoplastics selected to meet customer specifications. The official portfolio lists materials such as PEEK, PPS, PPSU, POM and reinforced polyamides. Plastigray combines material-processing expertise with process development, dimensional control and industrialisation of demanding moulded parts.

Assembled parts

Assembled parts

Assembly and finishing operations complement the company’s injection moulding activity. Plastigray can provide customer-specific subassemblies and finished functions ready for further integration. Assembly is supported by product testing, metrology and production logistics, according to the requirements of each project.

Prototyping

Early-stage development work helps evaluate moulded part concepts ahead of series production. The integrated engineering team carries out feasibility studies and prototype work as part of the product-development process. Simulation and structural analysis may also be used to refine the design and manufacturing approach.

Mold design

Mould design and industrialisation are coordinated within Plastigray’s engineering offer. Tool specifications, tooling development and process trials are managed in connection with each customer project. The company also describes a tooling procurement and development function in China; do not assume every tool is manufactured at the Gray plant.

Part design

Product engineering covers definition, feasibility and design of injection-moulded plastic parts. Rheological simulation and structural calculations are among the development tools identified by the company. These services support process selection, functionality and transfer into industrial manufacture.

Finished, decorated, printed and marked parts

Plastigray develops appearance-critical plastic components, including textured and soft-touch surfaces. The available processes include in-mould decoration and finishing activities intended to integrate surface appearance with moulded part performance. Actual finishing method and material are defined for each customer application.

Welded parts

Welding is one of the associated operations described for complete customer functions and subassemblies. The company’s industry listing specifically identifies ultrasonic welding among its technologies. Final weld construction, qualification and process choice remain dependent on the specific component programme.
